Purpose & Objectives

 This workshop is designed to assist you in developing skills and tools that will help you successfully manage conflict.  Conflict is the result of social interaction and occurs in our lives as a part of normal everyday interaction with people.   Conflict is neither good or bad, how we handle it often times is.  Learning to handle conflict effectively is a critical skill.  

Participants will:

  • Uncover many of the causes of conflict
  • Be able to distinguish disruptive conflict and learn to recognize it when it occurs
  • Learn five conflict management styles
  • Identify instances where different conflict management styles are appropriate
  • Learn the difference between fair and unfair “fighting”
  • Learn how to send clear messages that are not misunderstood
